How Wing Snob Was Born

It started with a backyard grill, a bucket of wings, and an obsession with getting the sauce exactly right.

Back in 2012, founder Marcus Delray was tired of settling for mediocre wings at every restaurant he visited. He knew there had to be something better — something bolder, crunchier, saucier. So he started experimenting in his own kitchen, testing dozens of spice blends, fry temperatures, and wing-to-sauce ratios until he landed on something extraordinary.

What began as a neighborhood obsession quickly grew into something much bigger. Friends told friends, block parties turned into pop-up events, and soon the demand was undeniable. Wing Snob was incorporated in 2013 and opened its flagship location at 30800 Van Dyke Ave in Warren, Michigan — and the line was out the door on day one.

Today, Wing Snob is one of the most-loved wing destinations in the United States, serving over 50,000 customers and growing. The wingsnob experience is about more than food — it's a culture of flavor, community, and zero compromise.

2012

The Backyard Obsession

Marcus Delray begins developing his first wing recipes at home in Warren, Michigan. Friends and family can't get enough, and word spreads fast through the neighborhood about the "best wings in the block."

2013

Wing Snob Is Born

Wing Snob is officially incorporated. The flagship restaurant opens at 30800 Van Dyke Ave, Warren, MI. Opening day brings a line stretching down the block — they sell out in 3 hours flat.

2015

Sauce Lab Launched

The Wing Snob Sauce Lab opens — a dedicated kitchen space purely for developing new flavors. Over 80 sauces are tested; 12 become permanent menu staples, including the now-legendary Honey Sriracha Gold.

2017

Catering Division Launches

Demand for Wing Snob at private events, corporate gatherings, and weddings leads to the launch of the dedicated catering service. Within the first year, over 200 events are catered across Michigan and beyond.

2019

Named "Best Wings in Michigan"

Wing Snob wins the prestigious "Best Wings in Michigan" award from Michigan Food & Dining Magazine. The recognition sparks national attention and doubles customer traffic overnight.

2022

Franchise Program Opens

The Wing Snob franchise program officially opens, allowing passionate entrepreneurs to bring the wingsnob experience to their own cities. The first franchised locations open in Detroit and Chicago.

2024

50,000 Customers & Growing

Wing Snob celebrates serving its 50,000th customer. The brand continues to expand its menu, its reach, and its commitment to delivering the boldest wings in the United States — one perfectly sauced wing at a time.
